Default Lowering question(s) for an '01 accord (4 cyl.)

Alright, I have an '01 Accord LX 4 cyl. I'd like to drop it moderately so I'm looking at between 1.2-1.5". But here's the tricky part: there's a 3 in. gap between wheelwell to tire in the front and 2 in. in the rear because of my sounds. What can I do? Also, with that drop is it really necessary to get new struts?

I would really recomend that you do because the ride quality is %100 better! But yes your car will still function without them.
