Aftermarket Cams .......Good----Bad
BEST CAM?
Who has the best cam?
(not really a money issue, more of a power production question and stability)
There hasn't been to many topics recently on the CROWERS. What I have read is that CROWER Cams tend to break etc.....
Have they fixed the problem?
Do you have to use their valve train to use there cams?
Here is my problem......we have used all kinds of cams from Skunk2 stage 1-3, OEM CTR-ITR's, JUN cams and so on many different cars and set-ups.
Recently we received a set of 403's from Crower. This is our first attempt using Crower BTW.
Now its a B16 head, skunk2 retainers, Ferrea Valve Springs and REV hi-comp Valves. All the wrk has been done to the head & valve train to support these cams (CROWER 403's). Once installed and torqued to spec we cannot even do any adjustment. Not even a .001 filler gauge will fit between the rocker and the cam. We have done evertything we need to do so far as we have had much experience with cams in both VTEC applications and non-VTEC applications. We have talked to Crower and all they said was shave the rockers. WTF?
We have talked and shown several machine shops that have no idea what we have going on and blame the manufacturer. Other machine shops do not even want to touch it.
We checked the clearance between the rocker and tha retainers as well and it was fine.
any assistance would be appreciated.
