i'm not doubting you,but above the man posted info directly from the Helm manual-i'm more inclined to believe that.
like i said above,if you're basing your numbers on the stock tach,your numbers could be WAY off.on my Z6 in my EG,at WOT,my stock tach indicates about 4500 RPM when VTEC comes in.when i still had the Z6 in my coupe,it was more around 5kRPM.same motor,same ECU,different tachs.

i'm not doubting you,but above the man posted info directly from the Helm manual-i'm more inclined to believe that.

Ther both right, Helms says the RPMs need to be "above 4800" to activate. It doesn't neccessrily mean it will right at that point, but not before.

It is possible for it to engage later (under extremely light engine loads), but as long as speed and temp requirements are met, it is 4800 at WOT.
