Default Where can I get a Si badge for cheaper than dealership and a ques. about my Si tranny

I got a 2000 civ si and bought it recently without the si basge, the honda dealership is asking almost 30 bucks for that damn sticker and I need to find a cheaper place to get it from.

Second, I think my tranny might be messed up... When I shift at high rpm's 1st into 2nd, my gears sound like they are grinding and this happens everytime at high rpm's and sometimes 2nd into 3rd at high rpm's.

Plus, what speed is the 3rd gear of this tranny supposed to go up to before having to shift into 4th, I think my buddies is off, not sure...

Please give feedback...

Pep Boys?

Yes if, when you shift, your gears "grind" then you are fuX0r3d. You need new synchros. Synchros are not cheap. It is generally cheaper and easier to just buy a different tranny. But STILL you don't know what shape that tranny is in.

Yep your synchors are almost 100% fucked!!! Check your clutch fluid level, but I don't think it will help, bleed it too. New tranny defently. As far as si badge goes go find a riced out SI and rip that sticker of he will prolly replace it with SIR anyways you will just do him a favor.

Before you listen to these idiots try some GM syncro mesh fluid. Sometimes it helps to resolve any Sychro scratching issues.

I replaced the 1st to 2nd syncro in my b16a2 trans and it cost me 260.00 at cost.
Jeeeeezzz.. I hate spending money.

Eventually you will have to replace that crap.
Wait till you have the money.

P.S. An ITR trans is less likely to do this syncro scratching crap.

P.S.S. Buy an ITR trans.

Screw the Si badge and just buy something useful like the GM syncro fluid.

do without the badge, less likely to become a victim of theft.

also i've never used this syncromesh, but i have heard good things and actually i will probably be changing to it this weekend.

3rd gear goes from 60-80 mph, then shift to 4th.

Apparently the dealer is trying to rip you off or something. According to our prices here in Cincinnati, OH. The rear "Si" emblem is $19.18. The side "DOHC VTEC" labels are $9.50/each.

Where on earth is this $70 coming from?

There is a known problem with the S4C transmission. There is a service bulletin that was released on October 16, 2001.

It's also not usually the synchros that causes the trouble, but rather the sleeve sets.

Being as all of the Si's are going to be out of warranty by now, depending on what condition yours is in, you may be able to go into one or several dealers and be as nice as possible (or bitch if required) and see if you can be fixed up on Honda's "goodwill".
