Default With $1000, what could I add to my B16A?

Hey guys, I'm new to this end of H-T, and I thought that maybe you could help. I'm looking to spend no more than a grand on some all-motor stuff, and I was wondering what would be the best use of my money in order to make some good power?
I've got a 1991 CRX Dx, and I've already got the usual,
1989 B16A OBD0 PR3 ECU from an 89 DA6 Teg, S1 Tranny.

I've already got the usual, a CAI, 2.5" exhaust, Header. Nothing more. I'd like to make some reliable power, and I'm not interested in Nitrous or FI at all, and I like the B16. READ: I don't want another block/head. So I'm asking what you gentlemen would do with $1000 to a near Stock 1st gen B16. Thanks guys! I appreciate it.

cams, cam gears, matching valvetrain + hondata. maybe more than 1k, but i think hondata would be worth it

if you are not going to exceed 8400rpm, then, obtain these parts

p30 intake manifold (get it ported)-$90 total
lightest flywheel you can find-$200
itr cams-$250
mill the head-$40
cams gears-$200
1g talon fuel pump-$20 (roughly 155LPH)
used hondata-$225
tuning-$150

$1175. its a bit over your budget, but, its a good starting point.

upgrade the valvetrain and put in some more aggresive camshafts with adj camgears, reprogram ECU then hit the dyno and have someone tune it. that'll prolyl be the best money spent.

I can do the ECU reprogramming part all I usually need is the list of mods. I prolly have some used cams and vlavetrian too, if you decide to go this path, feel free to PM me.

AEBS Intake Manifold w/ Hondata Gasket
Bored TB
ITR Cams
VAFC

Then spend the rest of the money getting it dyno tuned.

Also replacing some gaskets would be a good idea too, cause it is a 1989 motor.

Good Luck.

That's a good idea! I've heard that the CTR cams are better... is that true? If so, should I upgrade the valvetrain? Skunk2 maybe?

What do you guys think?

sum valve springs and retainers and cam gears upgrade. might be a bit more but then should be decent power

all i know is that the spoon stroker kit only costs 1500 dollars. i'm more a fan of destroking but you cant argue with results. it comes with crank pistons rods all the bearings and accessories, and an ecu that is tuned to that setup.

I recently puy CTR cams in my car and upgraded the valvetrain to portflow inners so I can rev to 8500 to get the most out of the cams. It depends if you want to keep your stock valvetrain, but if you want to rev to 8500 or so its not a bad idea tp upgrade your springs, portlfow inners are only $80 shipped to your door.
