what have you guys done to rust proof your gas tank?
dont spill gas on it? and if you do wipe it off....heh....other than that i just waxed it ive never seen a bike with rust on it unless its like 20 years old but most of these streetbikes won't be around in 20 years sooo , what type of bike are you talking about?
Make sure you've always got fresh gas in it. If you're going to leave your bike for awhile, then fill it up with a full tank of gas and add Sta-Bil (available at any chain autoparts store).
If it's rusted already, I don't know.

Keep it full of gas to prevent rust from forming. Rust removal is whole nuther topic.

So are you asking what to do if there's rust already, or how to prevent it?

keep it full of a non-oxygenated liquid to displace any gaseous oxygen. Gasoline is a convenient choice.
