Car pulls to the right on gas?
Anyone know why my car would be pulling hard to the right when i give it gas? If I lay off the gas it goes straight so I dont think its my allignment. Would a bad Axle cause this? Its like I have tourque steer but I dont remember it being this bad, its even if I give it a slight amount of gas? This is on a 90 Civic with a 90 Si trans/ZC engine. Any advice will be helpful!
Its called Torqe Steer its becuase the Si tranny uses a Short and a long axle. The Right side of the car has the shorter axle. The Car pulls to that side because the power is more easly tranfered to the shorter axle.
Well Check your tire Pressure. Also when my Drivers side Wheel bearing was starting to go bad i felt it alot more, Because there was more drag on that wheel. So basicaly check anything that might cause more drag on the opposite side of the car. Like Tire pressure on both sides, Wheel bearing, and make sure your brakes arent gettin stuck. Thats all i can think of now. Check those then let us know.
I would be checking your suspension closely, It can be:
-alignment
-radius rod bushings
-lower control arm inner bushings
-lower ball joints
-upper ball joints
-loose tie rod
etc etc etc. It is impossible to tell via a forum, you are going to have to lift it up and check it out.
