what is the difference in non-vtech and vtech
im new to the import game and would like to know the difference in vtec and non vtech engines.also any info on the different engines,b16 b18 b20 ect. and wich is better for a street racing/drag setup would be nice. thanks

Alan, you just walked all over the two most punishable rules of this board (you spelled vtec wrong, and you should have searched). Some people here give a **** about the rules, and they're gonna blast on you.
I don't give a **** about the rules, so I'll just answer your question. VTEC (notice the spelling) is a variable valve timing system. A vtec cam shaft has two sets of lobes on it, a short one for fuel economy purposes, and a longer one for power. At a certain RPM (it's different on most models), the computer switches the pistons (by way of a few locking pins) from the shorter lobe to the longer lobe, creating more lift and thus more HP. It's like instantly installing a more aggressive cam in your engine.
