theres a post at the top of this board that gives some good tips on how to clean you're engine bay..
now hiding wires n stuf.. thats different, i'd say do a search,
but you can also strip out any non-essential components, like the windshieldwiper system for example. and splash gaurds..

question.
i'd like to know what those fuzzy orange things are that are on your brake fluid resevoir.
just for looks, or what?
they look like arm/wristbands that basketball players wear...lol.</TD></TR></TABLE>
when people race, they brake hard. when that happens, fluid gets hot and spills. they are their to soak up the liquid so it does not go everywhere.
to stay on topic. simple green works great.

Why would you want to strip your engine bay like that-I mean yeah it looks good on a show car-but its not functional for daily driving-I mean no PS,no A/C,wiper fluid, cruise control,etc......WHY??!!

Currently working on my engine bay. My AC was hardly ever used, and I wanted to free up a few ponies, so an N1 pulley went on, and my AC came out. Car also came with PS, but I dislike the feel of power steering when driving hard/cornering, just a personal preference.

Yeah I mean I have nothing against it- its just I pulled my A/C and a week later put it back in-PS though aint no thing my bros hatch doesnt have it and its hardly noticeable....
A friend and I have already stripped his 93 accord engine bay. It was the EX model, which meant it had a lot of **** that came out.
We ripped out the A/C and all the lines, PS and all the hoses, ABS and all the wiring(putting non-abs lx master and lines in), CC, Wiper fluid resevoir, Coolant resevoir. I forget what else, but the only thing left now are two sets of wires coming through the firewall on either sides of the engine for headlights and turnsignals. Engine fuse block and all other misc. wires have been lengthened/re-routed back through the firewall.
Kinda wierd ripping out wires and hoses and throwing them in a pile in your garage, but hell, we had nothing better to do.

That green EG is in a magazine i read this month. he had a full harness custom made and alot of the wires were hidden professionally
BEFORE

AFTER

I relocated the following
Both Headlight harness's
The Distributor wires are hidden back under the intake manifold
Removed the injector clips and routed them up through the intake manifold runners
The big bundle of connectors by the batter were relocated underneath the battery
Vtec solenoid wires Routed under the dizzy
removed
A/C
Washer fluid resevoir
Painted the Overflow tank black
and the rest i forget. but i plan on getting a full harness and legthening it so that no wires will ever bee seen when i get the B20/Vtec swap comes. all the cleaning was done with Simple Green Diluted 75simple/25 water, steel wool, and lots of elbow grease

PS- in ANY honda, no need for it, if you do need go left so fuckn weights.
AC- no need for it, and i live were it gets to 100-110 often so don't talk about it being killer.
WF- ya that is kinda good to have, but its do able without.
CC- its a luxury not needed at all
thats why.
lol i only had to take out the WF, to get my engine bay to look like that, gota love the VX eh wooot wooot

Your civic is not a race car.
Looks good though.
You'll regret removing them all later on down the road. (unless you have a daily driver of course...)

If you dont need it then take it out. everyone has there own preference. Me i dont need PS so i bought a car that didnt have it. plus it helps build some muscle
. A/C isnt really needed here in Indiana we usually have a nice breeze to keeps things decent out side

Actually, he (Mike G) doesn't have tons of money, he just had some quality work done with an excellent shop. DOHC Garage customized his wiring for a very fair price. Here's another car JDM_JON did, ekfour's Civic hatch...

thats funny... my civic is not a race car, it is a daily driver,
and I stripped ALL that stuff(well most came pre stripped but still).
and its no problem whatsoever,
I mean, YES, if you live in an area that gets hot often, AC is needed, no doubt.
but in cali, you only need it about one or two weeks a YEAR..
power steering,
no i dont think EVERY honda should remove it,
but on a civic hatch, the car is so darned light, you really dont need it in the first place.
These cars aren't race cars, NO ONE SAID THEY WERE so dont make assumptions.
BUT driving a car with no power steering, a stiff responsive suspension, and a rigid short shifter is RRREEEAAAALLLYYY frickin fun man,
you really have a feel for what the car is doing,
and it feels goooooood
