hammer and chisel. but you risk gashing the metal like I did in the rear of my crx, but I primered over it and no one gives a **** anyway.
What about a heat gun? Im actually gettin ready to remove the same stuff and someone told me a heat gun works well. Worth a shot.

I am in the process of doing the same, I don't give a rats *** about gouging metal because you will be sanding and priming anyways when your done.
I used a heavy paint scraper and just started chipping it away, if I get some hard stuff I break out the hammer. After I vaccum everything up I take a rag and some 'Goof-Off' and just rub out the rest of the tar. Sand down all spots that you removed the tar from and primer/paint.

This is the way to go. I tried a heatgun, and that took FOREVER!
Put some dry ice on there leave it on for a little wile, then hit it with a mallet.

Matt</TD></TR></TABLE> dry ice is the best method. no heat gun or solvents. The heat gun will just make it all goopy and solvent will make it all goopy plus smell like crap

go to the holiday inn and steal about 5 towels. soak them in dieles fuel and lay them on the floor pan. it makes it soft. heat guns take al looooooong time. you can get 95% of it off with the dieles and the towels. let it sioak a few das snd it comes right off.
