Default Suspension Review: 6th Gen Accord- Tein Basic vs Koni\Custom

Car: 2001 Accord Coupe 4cyl.

Driver: Myself

Old Suspension: Koni Yellow SP3 Dampers\H&R Race Springs

New Suspension: Tein Basic Dampers

Thoughts: The Koni Suspension Was A Very Aggressive Suspension And I Loved It When First Installed. The Car Handled Like A Dream And Was Very Stiff. The Steering Was As Responsive As It Could Get It Seemed And There Was Virtually No Body Roll. I Didnt Really Adjust The Rebound Settings Much, Just Set Em On Stiffest And Left It At That. After A While Howver, The Extremely Harsh Ride Got To Me. But It REALLY Got On My Passengers Nerves (Girlfriend) And Probably The People Behind Me (going slow over bumps). So After Much Thought, I Purchased The Tein Basics Based On Their Price And Reputation. At First I Thought "Why Not Call Up Ground Control And Have Them Make Custom Rate Springs That Are Softer"? Well... Why Didnt I? I Still Dont Know.... Anyway...I Installed The Teins Yesterday And Took Them For A Spin.

Results: The Aggressive Driver In Me Is Sad And Feels Like I Downgraded, Which I Kinda Did. But The Modest Driver Is Happy With The Comfortable Ride And Height Adjustability. For The Track\AutoX I Would Say Stick With the Konis\Custom Springs But For The Everyday Driver That Never Sees The Track, The Teins Are What You Want. I Definately Feel Some Body Roll Has Returned But Nothing Bothersome. Steering Response Has Gone Down A Bit, Again nothing Bothersome. But The Ride Is Oh So Smooth!

Summary: Tein Basics Are Good For Daily Driver That Doesn't See Track Time.
Koni Yellows\Custom Springs Are Great For Handling And For The Track But Are Too Stiff For Daily Driver IMO.

Pics Are With My Camera Phone So Not Great Quality Sorry
