Looks good, But I am suprised it didn't go over 200whp.....
Can you enlighten why. Most K20A2s can be above that.
Just curious, I would drive that EP3 any day.

Maybe lack of exhaust manifold and/or tuning.? i dunno just a guess. i think kingmotorsports knows what they are doin atleast i hope they do lol

Yea, I will give all my props to King Motorsports,
I have seen an EP3, with a K20 ITR swap in it lay down over 225whp with an AEM CAI, Comptech race header, and SKUNK2 cat back piping, and a Hondata reflash.....Thats all.....
I'll bet theirs is nasty/fun to drive

IIRC, they put this car together with the thought of "let's only use Mugen/JDM parts" and not so much of "let's get the parts for the most power".
This car was the source of ridicule on some other boards b/c it's so expensive (to duplicate), but really not all that fast (in a straight line).

Glad to hear there are plenty of K20's out there making over 200whp. We were expecting between 190 and 200.
It is very difficult to compare numbers across different dynos, on different days, with very different sets of variables.
We were very happy with the results. Take a look at the A/F ratio - the Mugen ECU does a great job of keeping it consistent throughout the powerband. They've engineered it to be safe, not on the edge for maximum peak dyno bench racing.
The only thing I might change would be VTEC engagement, perhaps making it a little smoother. However getting kicked in the pants with 145ft/lbs of torque right after VTEC engagement is pretty fun and will put a smile on anyone's face.
At any rate, just trying to keep it technical.

It looks good mang!
Its good to see a vehicle tuned with the Manufacturers parts only. I know anybody can make a Mustang thats fater than a Ferrari in a straight line and (cheaper) but I always appreciate the finer automobiles.

To each thier own bro. Mugen is a good company and thier products are well made. But most would rather get more power for the cash they pay for the mugen parts. Mugen is a good set up for a well balanced car since mugen does all the work for you. If you want to go a step further you could always get the hondata kpro ecu and tune the car yourself, along with a Tein suspension and internals such as toda or hytech and produce more numbers. But like I said to each his/her own.

Yep, peak dyno numbers are for bench ricers
***** the haters
good info, keep it coming

Looks good, power curve looks great, and as you mentioned, it's a/f is just about perfect throughout. And the parts are engineered to be of oem quality
My thoughts exactly GreenR....I say booo!
The only thing I would buy in mugen is the DC5 motor mounts.......and that's because no one else makes them.
Ditch that ECU, everyone knows that the K-pro owns it.

Try it out and see how it compare to the Mugen ECU.

Has king ever done any comparisons between their mugen pieces and other companies?
Im guessing not since it would be bad business, but im still curious.
Im only asking because both the articles ive read about the King/mugen s2000's (the 2.0 and 2.2) have showed that they dont make anymore power than stock.
again this can simply be because of the different days, or of honda bringing ringers, which was stated in the article.
Ok, i guess a better question is, did you guys get a baseline before you added the mugen parts?
Mike

No we didn't baseline before the parts - when the car was built over a year ago it was a mad dash to get it finished. No time to tinker around with it. We just got it back from press/media a couple of months ago.
We would have tried the K-Pro, but the dyno day was for our customers and we had a day booked with appointments. We've used the K-Pro on a K20A2/3 hybrid and it worked very well. We plan to tinker with the K-Pro on this car in the near future. I'll definately post results as they come available.
Thanks
Clayton
