Hey y’all. This Sunday is the last Atlanta area auto-x of the season. Who will be there for the “Champion of Champions” event? Madhatter and I are planning on it. Let the wagering and the trash talking begin!
I plan on trying to make it for my first AutoX experience. Can't wait!
BTW, how many runs would a novice hope to get in during this event? How different is it from a "regular" AutoX?
Thanks,
Def <---AutoX n00b

Ok, how much? I'll drive on the kumho 712 street tires.
It would definitely be more fun this way.
Truth is that I'm not going to run this event at all.
I just have a ton of work to do, so I'll be spending all my sunday working at ga tech. Hey, but I'll be only a short distance away! I want to hear tire squealing and engines revving in the air!!
You guys have fun.

come on alex, run on some street tires so i can see how i do to an experienced driver. you have the rest of the day to do work, i got work here at UGA but racing is a must.
Don't worry I keep trying to convince myself to run... but it's not working. If I survive this next week, I'm set for the rest of the semester. It's funny how things turnout - the toughest week this semester followed by the arrc, which is the most important race of the year also next weekend!
(I made one run in a Type R on street tires at event #9 and it came out to be just over one second slower (don't remember exact) than what I ran with the kumhos in GS. The results http://home.att.net/~soloII/2001/ show a 40.56 for my time in gs in case you were there also. Unless chattanooga region holds again their traditional december autox, I think I'm done for the year.

Def~ You'll get four timed runs for your paid entry fee. If we finish early, they might allow "fun runs," which ususally cost $1 per run; they don't count towards the official standings, but they're timed nonetheless...
Roadracer, Cosworth, BlackR, others: anyone else plan to be there?

A lot of the people who would be there are going to be at the CMP DSP smackdown. Sigh.... Won't be there myself, so will be at the Ted.

Given that there's only an early morning reg and tech, you guys have any interest in a pre-race breakfast session before heading to the Ted? or is that a really dumb idea
?
