Default Will sitting time hurt my engine?

I just lost my drivers license, so I won't be able to drive my car any for about 6 months. I was wondering if this idle time of my car will hurt it, since the oil and such will just be standing and the car won't be started? Thanks in advance for any help

no it won't hurt it... but u might want to put a car cover over it... unless its garage kept... also when u start driving it u might want to change the oil.. i think there are some other things u should do too... but i can't remember... but oil is important because, well it has a shelf life so...

isn't that just to keep a charge in the battery? if it is then u could probably just disconnect the battery

Yeah really lol.

Just because you dont have a license doesnt mean you cant just start the car and let it run in your driveway for a little bit .. lol.

Or let someone else with a license drive it around the block a few times every once in a while if youre THAT worried about it .

What you should do it start the car and drive it around your block once every week. This will keep a charge in your battery and keep your oil from sitting too long and become a thick gel.

I had a Nissan sit for 2 years and the oil became solid like gelatin. LOL

Change you oil before you are required to 'park' it, start it once a week and run it until the cooling fan (radiator fan comes on) - that will give your battery the time it needs to recharge and recover from the starting cycle, and it will make sure that the oil has passed through all of you oil passages and back into the oil pan a couple 100 times. -

Note.... - try to use Mobil 1 or another synthetic oil, as it will not turn to complete sludge in that 6 month period of time..

2nd Note: Drive responsibly and you won't lose your license...

Just my .02....

Tell us how you lost your license so we can laugh at you.

Edit: Check your owners manual, theres a whole list of procedures to follow if youre going to have your car sit, i'd copy it out for you, but the manual is in the car, maybe in a bit.
