converting obd1 b16a to obd0( help please)
soo this is what i'm doing. i got a 1990 hb si and putting a second jdm b16a(obd1) in to my car(using the a jdm pr3 obd0 ecu. i'm switching it to a obd0 using the fuel injectors, and disturbuter from my frist b16a(obd0) that i had. the problem is that behind the block on the obd1 b16a(and up) doesn't have a sensor(which runs 2 wires with a rubber cover over it like the obd0 b16a also the stock dx and si). soo i was was wondering is the a way to by pass this, or i shouldn't even worrie about this?
the sensor you talking about is for the fan switch, obd1 motor had their switch/sensor by the thermostat housing(neck) just cut the wire and connect it to the other sensor(thermo housing)

soo i guess the that sensor was for reading the coolant, also i guess thats why i didn't have a plug to connect it to the thermostat housing......
thanks

there are two "fan switches"
one is the ECT switch: this switch tells the fans to go on, when the engine is running and the coolant reaches 196-203 deg F.
the second is the Engine Oil Temp Switch. This switch tells the fans to go on when the engine is off and the engine oil temp is above 221-232 deg F.
on 90-93 integras wire colors are as follows (not sure if ef/ed's are the same or not):
-ect switch blk and yel/grn
-engine oil temp switch blk and wht/grn
The b16a should have the ect switch located on the thermostat housing. I have heard that some motors don't have the engine oil temp switch. In that case the fan will not go on when the engine is off unless you wire it to do so. you could splice into the ect switch so at least the fan goes on... although it will turn on at a much lower temp and therefore run more often and most likely for longer.
