Default question about magnaflow resonator that I bought..

I bought a magnaflow magnapack stainless steel today. 2.25 inlet 2.25 outlet. I was just wondering if this will quiet down my turbo n1 muffler with 2.25 inch piping..

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/pack.htm

that's the one

do you think using that and my stock honda resonator would make the n1 quiet enough?

Yes, using the Magnaflow resonator will quiet your exhaust down alot.. it will take away the tin-can sound and make it sound deeper..

what about the idea of using both that magnaflow resonator and the stock one..I want the n1 to be as quiet as possible, and I know that is hard becuase n1 is one of the loudest exhausts...

the stock one is very restrictive.. if you want to make it quiet, just get 24" resonator.. i have the 18" resonator on my car...

buy another resonator if it will fit under there or just buy 1 long one. The longer the resonator, the deeper/quieter it will be.

i was thinking on a magnaflow muff and a resonator with 2.5 custom piping... is that still loud??

whats the difference between the ES muff and the mag or dynoflow ones? from that qoute up there, i get the idea that ES muff will equal the sound dB of a magna/dynoflow/N1/whatever + resonator combo

o yea, i m considering magnaflow muffler because they are cheaper than a ES.

This is your warning. Read the new rules. "search yo!" without posting a helpful link is worth -1%.

where did you get the mandrel bent piping at? I'm looking to do a full system, on my 91 si, but haven't found any shops around me that are equiped to do this type of work.

the best setup wud be a 2.5" magnaflow cat, custom 2.5" piping, and then a magnaflow 2.25" magnaflow muffler

Keeping the cat. in the system will quiet the car down immensely. If you plan to remove it, I would recommend either a hi-flow cat or a bullet muffler/resonator in the test pipe. I have a hi-compression b20vtec with a 2.5" system with a 22" Magnaflow resonator, a offset in/center out Magnaflow oval muffler(perforated core, but runs clean through on an angle), and i've made a 2.5" test pipe with a Dynomax Buller muffler/resonator in it. The car sounds great, but, as with anything without the cat, it is fairly loud.
Also, keep in mind the size of the header you use and diameter of the exhaust piping is a factor in how loud the car will sound.
