Default Final suspension choice!

I finally made my decision as to what to install on my '01 GSR. I chose to buy Koni Yellows and Eibach sport springs.

Good choice Y/N? Please give me some feedback before I spend the moolah!

Thanx!

Default Final suspension choice!

Your setup sounds like the common route that many people have taken here on this board. I have yet to modify my suspension to that extent, but I think most people are going to tell you that it is a good setup. If this if your final choice, I am sure you could find a good deal on what you are looking for in the classifieds or best buy section.

i got AGX's with sportlines, cause their cheaper
i really didn't see the use of KONI's for my app.
if i were to get higher spring rates i'd have to use koni's

yeah for that price u can almost get a full coilover system

I'm getting the setup for 400$ from a friend of mine. The springs/struts were installed for a short time on his car, and he decided he wanted to go lower....

If you are just wanting to lower the car that isn't a bad choice.I am not sure what spring rates you are getting but if you are looking to improve the handling you might want to be picky on the spring rates.

By sport springs you mean the Sportlines, right? If so then I'm sure you will like it. It will give your car that "slammed" appearance but it really wont slam it. You should end up with a 1 finger gap up front and a 1/2 finger gap in back. If you want something a little less agressive then I suggest the Eibach ProKits. Other than that you made an excellent choice on the shocks. The Koni's are worth their weight in gold.

Thank you Kanji, that is the feedback that I'm looking for!

I will be picking up the set in the next week or two, and will let you and H-T know how I like em'.

I'm sure I'll be thrilled with the handling of the car. I like the stock handling, but want a tighter feel.

Thanks again!

I have the suspension setup you're getting and it isn't "slammed" at all. 2 finger gap all around. It looks nowhere near as low as the ricemobiles I see all the time. And surprisingly, I still get GREAT ground clearance...it's a perfect balance.

Make sure you put the rear shock perches at their highest setting or the front will be higher than the rear.

The sportlines will look very dropped, and you would most likely need a camber kit.

Pro-Kit provide nice drop, nice handling, and left good clearance when I had a Wings West lip

I was told that the springs will lower the car 1.2" Y/N?

I DO want ground clearance! That would suck fuc--ng up the header/exhaust that I wanna buy down the road...

Koni is not bad, but when compare the TEIN NA I have now to the Koni/GC combo I have before. The TEIN is much better.

They both cost around the same, the only different is TEIN NA is not a coilover and can't adjust height like the GC did.

Sounds like you'll have a pretty worthy setup. The Eibachs are very nice but I really really like my Ground-Control coilovers because of the height adjustability.

this is some what of the subject, but i know from experience, as does "Dozed" nd another friend of mine,
that the weak a$$ factory BOLTS for the rear shock on the lower control arm has a tendency of braking.....damn bolts cost $11 at the dealership.....if u'r gonna do the installation, i suggest u treat the bolts from their FROZEN state to make the application smother....."learned the hard way"

My car is 3 months old, the bolts shouldn't be frozen yet....

And it's been summer here in California... It hasn't been below 32 degrees!

No freezing here....

Brrrrr

I think your mistaking sportlines for pro-kit? a pro-kits drop is about 1.2 inches, little more after it settles...

That may be a possibility.. I can only go with what my buddy has told me. He did say that it's a 1.2" drop, and that they are Eibach springs.

When I pick them up, I'll know for sure. Either way, it'll be better than the stock setup I have now.

400 bucks, can't turn it down!
