Default Removing EG window handles??

OK how the FUUUCKK do you get these things off!!
helms says you have to use a wire clip.. to grab onto another wire inside the handle, and pull on it while you pull the handle out..

well I made a wireclip out of a coat hanger and sat there monkeying around inside of the handle forever and could not get it to go!
its impossible to see in that thing, and feelign around, I just couldng find what I was supposed to hook onto.

anyone have any tips?

note: I mean the manual wind up window handles.. 92-95 civics

get a rag a wedge it between the handle. pull each side of the rag one after another and the clip will pop out.

<--I suck at explaining things online.

heh, ok that sounds cool..
but i'm not sure exactly what you mean,
if you could describe alittle better exactly how that rag should be wedged in there...
thnx

I have some surgical clamps that I use to pop the U pin out. Some thin needlenose pliers would also work.

aaah ok I think I understand,

so basically wedge the tool(rag.. plyers, etc) in and push on the OPPOSITE side of where the handle points to.

I'll assume thats right cuz the helms diagram shows you pulling the pin out from the direction the handle is pointing.. so naturally push it from the other end.

haha, ok i'll go try,
too bad also the screw holding on that little plastic pocket on the door is ******* stripped and wont come out.. grrrr,
tried drillin.. the little bastard must be forged or some ****.. probly gonna end up with bloody knuckeds breaking it

i bought the correct tool to take them out (kinda like a flat piece of metal with some triangles cut in it) but i ended up driving two doors down from my house to the local PRO bodyshop and they just use a hooked scratch-all type thing... worked like a charm. i still haven't put the cranks back on, lol. what a pain in the *** it is to be driving along and getting the passenger to pass you a window crank... LMFAO.

yeah, somebody else already said it, but i usually use a pair of forceps, the clamp like things they use in surgery. they are pretty strong, and lock in place, and are pretty pointy, so you can get them between the handle and the door panel.

another good thing i have found is to find an old steak knife, one that is pretty pointy. bend the tip 90 degrees, or even a bit more, making a hook. then, hook that on to the metal clip, and pull it off!

pull the handle away from the door as far as possible and then with some needle nose pliers and a flashlight (to see) pull the little clip off.

I just open the door wide so i have room.
Make sure the handle is up or up and facing the rear of the car some.
Then pull it back a bit and use a eyeglass sized screwdriver to pry the clip in and up at the same time.
