Default Form an automatic club

I’m thinking about forming an automatic club for all the racers that are rolling with an automatic. A club for all the automatic cars to exchange performance tips and tune. The only problem is that I don't have a clue on how many people are racing with their automatic and is it worth forming a club. If you have any suggestions or comments, please let me know.

I think automatics are pretty much limited to domestic cars... Honda automatics are just too weak to handle real power. But it's an idea, if you get enough support, you might be able to get a automatic class going at the races.

I know that automatic have lots of limitation but I have an auto that is running 11.7@122mph. I'm thinking about forming this club to help other automatic racers that might want to make their car a little faster.

i think you're pretty much on your own. i bet lots of people would switch to auto's if there was a cheap/strong auto available.. but there isnt.

I was thinking of forming a club to help others that might be in need but I guess not enough racers to start it. Oooh well.

That rule doesn't hold in the domestic world.

I have a time slip for it plus you can ask around. I ran 11.72@122mph on April 4, 2004 at Sacramento Raceway. You can ask other racers that attended. I will post my pictures and timeslip tomorrow.

It's cool. The main reason I want to form a automatic club was because some racers, including myself, can only drive automatic car. I didn't see any automatic racers care about it so I'm not going to waste my time.

Autos are great for consistency. Just what you need for bracket racing.

Man there could be real reasons why he drives auto, maybe hes handicapped or something. Props to him for making his car go that fast with a auto... I kno if i made acomminet like that and then found out the reasons was truly he cant drive stick id feel like a ***.

Give him credit, hes out there racing like the rest of us... If a company would build a strong auto for hondas I think you would see them used in pro's cars for sure... kinda like some of the set ups used in V8 race cars.

That is already being investigated....within a year or two you will see the hondas go to autos made by domestic manufacturers and when the circuits ban that, they will use domestic manual trannies

I read this post about 3 days ago and came back to find it actually ALIVE The truth is this... Auto's can make you faster and more consistent when "properly" setup. We went from running mid to high 10's (although in a Supra, I know I know ) with a 6-speed to 9.90's and a best of a 9.60 with an auto (still working on the gearing). Stay true to what you believe in and keep the auto, hopefully someone will come out with a "domestic-like" auto for Hondas
