Default What all do i need to run 11's?

if i run HIGH 11...like REALLY high 11's...what saftey parts will i need to get?

from my understanding:
a 5 point roll bar
a 5 point harness
a helment
a scatter sheild

is there anything else?

and speaking of helments....what should i look for whne i am purchasing one? I don't want to toss down a HUGE load on one...but i want a legal one.

isn't a 5 point rollbar required and good for 11.99-10.00.

It depends on the the track. There are plenty of Cobras and Z06's with minor mods running 11's and only having a helmet.

the rules only call for a 5 point BAR

a cage is only needed for 10.99 or 135 mph +

is there a 6pt aval that has removable front bars? or is atleast easily streetable? those front bars make it a PITA to get in and out....my street car really is a DAILY driven STREET car, none of this, race only trailered to the track "street" car crap

that's why i'm asking as well...my car is my ONLY car for right now...and if i do hit 11's...i'm gonan get booted if i don't have the gear....

my sis's b/f is a cup car chassis builder...so i guess my cage is taken care of... probally just a 6 point since i don't want to make it hard on anyone else getting in my car

i'm looking into a crow 5 point harness...possibly 2 of them...

i need a helmet...anyone have any suggestions for a CHEAP/LEGAL helmet....

and i think i cna get a scatter sheild for pretty cheap

depending on how its built , they arent as bad as you think. but yes you can have someone make the sides into swing outs if you want them to.

we are in the same exact boat ...its my only car, and gettin into my car with a bar in the way isnt too bad if its just for me, but for my pasenger is a whole nother story...

do a google on helmets, i see the bieffe and bell helmets (auto racing specific) for around 200-300, which isnt too bad. i have the bieffe predator, pretty nice, i like it.

scatter shield, i got the GE one from robearracing, also check with camp1320.com they have cheapass prices.

and yes u need a fire jacket

check out the rule book if u havnt already

rob.. if you get a 6pt then both front seats need 5pt harnesses and race seats or seatback braces.. i dont think that stuff is required for drag racing, but it needs to be ther imo. i have seen some crazy **** at the track (the kind that requires you to turn) when cars back into walls w/o braces.

check out http://www.bellhelmets.com they usually have some helmets on specail for a good price.

its surrounds the bellhousing and prevents the flywheel and **** from getting out of the housing and into the car.

i'll probally get 2, but i reallllly doubt i'll worry with the braces...my seat will be a race seat more than likely

You will also need an SFI approved harmonic balancer according to the rule book. I know of guys not running one and getting away with it though. It will depend on the person teching you car.
