my friend is willing to trade his supra TT 6 speed for a championship white TYPE R...
his car has 58,000 miles on it... and it's black...
of course it's not just a straight up trade... he would like cash on top of that...
real offers for this trade... name a price plus your CW type R...
(preferbably stock) or near stock as in I/H/E...

oh yeh forgot to mention it's salvage... i think it was stolen or broken into... i have to ask him...

Is he really sure he wants to do it?... I have a friend who used to own a Supra Turbo as well... pushing 500+hp. he blew the motor (somehow) and sold the Supra.. now he currently has a 2001 CW ITR, with the basic bolt ons, and a few other goodies.. and as much as he likes the ITR, he says he still regrets selling his Supra T.
I always said, if my R were go get stolen or God forbid, in a total wreck.. Knowing that prob couldnt replace my PY ITR, with a another new PY ITR.. i would just add some money and buy a Late model Supra TT

well i've been kicking his a$$ up mountain roads... basically 2nd and 3rd gear most of the time... and he also likes the type R...
and he loves his supra... took a long time for him to decide...
his supra kicks my a$$ on the straight road...
he loves the feeling of the torque in his car... that push... and he knows the type R doesn't really feel like the supra... coz he drove a type R before...
if somebody is offering a good price plus the type R... he'll take it... if not... he's not going to sell it...
basically testing waters...

(PS SUPRA IS KNOWN IN JAPAN AS A STRAIGHT WARRIOR) i don't think he likes the feeling anymore... or if anybody is selling a type R... in SO CAL... just reply to this thread... he might not get rid of it if nobody gives him a good price... and he'll just get a type R aswell but has to be CW

Broken into or stolen is not consider salvage.. Most likely the car sustained some major accident and required body parts to be welded on. Good luck with those cars, unless the welding is done by a submarine engineer I wouldn't consider.

Well if it is a salvage title i hope he does not expect to get a lot of money plus a type-r maybe around 5 grand maybe.

i know these cars (supra) sell for a lot more but there is just that salvage thing that screws things up a bit

 

it's salvage because the old owner... sold it to the insurance company because he didn't want the car...
if u have a CW type r... just bring it over... and he'll test drive urs... and u can test drive the supra... and take a look at it...

let me rephrase what i said... the last owner... got into an accident... a really minor accident... and he didn't want it anymore and sold it to the insurance company... i think it was just bumper damage...
end of story... that's just my friend's offer... and i'm helping a friend sell it... coz he's having a hard time finding a CW type R...
as i said in my post... if u don't have a CW R, and or don't want the car... u don't have to make an offer... simple as that... don't have to make dumb a$$ remarks
i also said u guys can check out his car... even bring it to a mechanic to check it out to see if there's any problems... or rewelding... or whatever u were mentioning...

there's a supra on off-topic.net right now for sell for AROUND $25K (negotiable)
it also has 700 rear wheel horsepower......only 2000 miles on the block as well.
it also has a salvage title. so, considering your friends car is stock, i'd say its even less than $25/24.....i dunno. just doing the math and letting people who dont know the cost of things....know whats up.

so it basically depends on how many miles and what year u guys have... and how much u want for the supra... if u guys want it... if not... it's fine with me... coz i already own an R...
i'm just helping out a friend... i helped kelly find his R... but that was like a year ago when they were available everywhere...

also... if there is a CW type R available in southern cali... can somebody tell me... coz we've looked everywhere... dealers, to online such as these boards, recycler.com, autotrader.com, ebay.com... but none is in so cali...

Unless the ITR has more than 50,000, you will never get one for $15,000. CW ITR's never go by the books. I think 97/98 w/ low miles (~30,000k) easily goes for $18-19,000. (unless, you find one from an old lady. )

yep... there are CW with around 20,000-30,000 miles... some even at 60k, 70k, 80k...

we've found one that's at 70k in los angeles... too many miles though and also one above 80k...

we saw some around the 20-40k mark but it's not in cali... selling for around 18000-19000...

that's why i said depending on how many miles... between $15000-19000...

if there is one in cali w/ less then 40k... he will trade his supra for sure... for some cash as well... or just buy it straight out...

and a supra tt six speed t-top is also hard to find... both are differnt purpose cars... even though it's salvage... it can sell... a buyer wanted his car for 25k last week or so... but he wouldn't let go of it... coz he couldn't find a type R yet...

sorry for the stupid replies... just rambling... and tired... it's 4am here... lol... i'm telling u he want's a CW type R bad... and only CW... coz we also found yellow and black ones... for a good price... but he didn't want it...

oh well... if nobody replies or wants to sell they're type R... then i guess he'll be keeping his supra... let's just see who replies the next couple days... coz i'm tired of looking one for him...

you're gonna have a hard time finding a CW to begin w/ and expecting to get it for that amount of money makes it even tougher...

I have a 98 CW w/ less than 30K on it and I'm telling you right now, even if I had to sell it for some strange reason, I would not let it go for what you're looking to spend...us R owners have the upper hand when it comes to selling, especially CW.

Time is of the essence, and these cars are dropping like flies! Good Luck though

hmmm... weird i guess i don't own a type R coz i don't know anything...

sorry but i had to say that... read the post above... not trying to flame... i said it over and over again... I OWN A TYPE R MYSELF... and am looking for A TYPE R FOR MY FRIEND... i also said i know it's hard to find... that's why we're seeing if anybody is willing to trade for a supra TT 6 spd... as it's also a car that lots of people want... and hard to come by... coz we tried just looking for a CW car but no luck... so maybe getting rid of his supra will help... end of statement...

also i don't think the type R is all that myself... my family owns a R34 V-SPEC that's about 600 WHP, ARISTO 300 (TT) stock, one STI stock... a total of 11 cars... only 3 japanese cars we own... and are listed above... my gf also drives a e320... all nice cars... all different cars... and all fun... by the way, the other cars are in HK except for the R... just sitting there... till this x'mas when i go back!

don't get me wrong i love my R... that's why i'm helping a friend find one... coz it's definitely worth the money for one...

again i'm not trying to flame... but the R is not the best car... i test drove the new lancer 7 this summer in HK also the soarer 430... pretty nice cars too... but different as well...

everybody has there wants... people that like supra... they willing to do anything to find a TT 6 spd...

also people that like type R's... they willing to do anything too... like my friend... he loves his supra... it's his second one so far... but he is now willing to let go of it for an R...

i also said... i'm testing waters... as in testing if anybody is willing to do this trade... coz we have had no luck in just finding an R... and maybe posting this and with the luck of an R owner who might want a supra...

so far... i guess it hasn't worked... and people are just attacking me... or maybe i'm sensitive...

my experience with the R... it took me deposting money in 3 dealerships when i bought it a yr and a half ago... the first dealership bad service... bad people... not like how u buy cars in hong kong... they treat u like a king... the second i was refered to cerritoes... and i finally got it there... coz they treated me good... and did not waste my time... i basically wrote them a check... they accepted... and the deal was over... that's how it should be... not bullshiting and wait... i have to talk to the manager about this come back out... and name a higher price... then talk again... and same thing happens again... YES... i know how hard it was to get... took me 2-3 months to get mine!

sorry for all the people having to read my bitching... don't REPLY if u don't think this is a good trade...
