Default Noob question about raising compression and A/F ratio

now I don't know if there's an actual correct answer to this, because I know a lot "just depends" on the setup, but in general (if there's a such thing), if you raise compression in a GSR motor to 11.5-12:1 and keep a stock GSR ecu in there, what happens to the A/F ratio? I'm assuming it can only do 2 things, either run leaner or run richer. Which is it?

thanks for the reply, but I actually searched the archives and couldn't find the answer to my question. most of those posts ask about tuning they're a/f ratio, where i'm technically asking a non-tuned a/f ratio question.

I would be interested in this, too. I am increasing the compression in my F22 to 11:1 and (initially) will be using stock ECU with stock a/f maps. Anyone know the impact?

Well, I'm not an expert, but I'll take a shot and hopefully an expert will correct my errors.

An engine with a higher compression ratio is more efficient and therefore it should require less fuel to produce power.

However, when you increase compression, you also increase the density of the air/fuel mixture, and combustion speed, and lower the vacuum in the cylinder, which should result in a richer fuel mixture.
