After I installed my Aeromotive FPR my fuel pressure is now set at 38psi. With the stock FPR it was 48psi. Why has this happended?

If I set it higher the engine wants to bog once the RPMs drop after I rev the motor?

Motor is currently stock with the exception of your basic bolt ons....

Did you mount the FP guage in a different place or use a different guage?

I used the same gauge but I mounted it on the fuel rail this time. For some reason I couldn't get a proper seal with my plug fitting, so I put the gauge there and left the plug fitting on the Aeromotive FPR.

Before I did this I had the FPR gauge on the fuel filter...

 

you mean that it will bog if it pass 38psi? Is the fpr brand new?

yeap, once the rpms drop to idle....and it is a new fpr.

 

You might want switch back to oem fpr. If it's back to normal, you need to contact aeromotive. You might have a defective fpr.

 

what fuel pump are you running and also how do you have your setup connected

walbro 255...SS braided line from Fuel filter to fuel rail, OEM injectors, SS braided lines from fuel rail to FPR and SS braided line for outlet. FP gauge mounted on fuel rail.

what model is the fpr? Which port did you use for return?

13109, I used the bottom port for return.

 

do you have the fpr hooked up to a good boost/vacume port off the intake manifold?..and did you set the pressure with the vacume line disconnected (plug the hose with your hand)?

I used the FPR vacuum port from the OEM FPR port, which is located on the intake mani and yes I did, "(plug the hose with your hand)

Just to verify, once I do this, I simply reconnect the vac hose to vac port and its done (car still running)?

AEM.....what is the stock psi suppose to be at, 45-48?

yeah you just recconect it after you set the static pressure...as for your problem im not sure..it sounds like you have everything hooked up correctly...the guage needle moves when you rev the motor correct?

yeap...I guess I'll mess with it again tonight and see....

 

two proper way of mounting your fpr:
1. line from fuel filter to fpr in-let, from fpr out-let to fuel rail.
2. line from fuel filter to fuel rail, at the other end of fuel rail is attached with fpr.
