Hi 95exr from what I have read on this forum is that the clutch switch is used for turning on your car, when you engage the clutch. In some states it is considered a safety issue, and it would be illegal to remove it. Although I do not know a real reason as to why you would want to remove it, it doesn't seem to get in the way of anything. Good luck on whatever you decide to do.

P.S. Use the search option, it is a very useful tool on this forum to sift through information posted for over 80,000 members. I couldn't find anything in recent topics but found over 2 pages on this subject in archived.

it's there so if you try to start the car w/out depressing the clutch while the car is in gear it won't turn over otherwise it will lurch forward. it's not a problem unless your an idiot and or your drag strip now checks for this, like mine does.

honestly guys the clutch pedal switch is not that common of a question to get on this noobs *** about searching. in reality you could flame about 90% the people who start threads cause you know there is archived info on it, but then there would be no point to coming here.

Hey, sorry guys... I didn't think this question was a popular one so I took my chances... lol I should've searched anyways!

The reason i'm asking is because i'm doing a h22a swap and at the same time converting to 5spd. I picked up the clutch pedal assembly from a junk yard last week and just noticed the switch on it and had no idea what it did... now that I do know I know that I will be connecting it once installed! Thanks for the quick responses

You're right KG, the only reason I suggested it was because I couldn't give him full information on the topic and I didn't think responses would come that quick to his question around this time of day. I wasn't trying to flame him or anything, just telling him the results I got from the archived listing.
