I popped my hood to check my oil in the morning when I noticed that my driver's side mount seemed weird. Upon closer inspection, I see that the insert is busted. I'm pretty sure the driver's side motor mount is pretty much gone, but just wondering if its okay to drive around with it like this for couple of weeks until I have money. Is it bad for my other mounts in the engine bay?

If you can't tell from the position of the mounts, its a '00 Civic.

yup happened to me as well. It happened during the track so I didn't know and when I went to launch the car the engine would hop up and dent up my hood and the coolant hose ripped off. I replaced it with a Hasport mount. I think HCP makes one as well.
well i had a busted, rear mount (the one that goes to the firewall) and HOLLY **** was it bad, if i even got on it quickly the whole motor would rock, it sucked. can you feel it?? and i was forced to drive around with the rear mount broken for awhile, and one of the other mounts is now busted, well the ruber part is
id get it a new one and invest in some jimfab TQ mounts. that will help releave stress from that mount

it happens - probably from all that torque.
your engine won't fall out or anything, but the fluid that is (was) inside that mount will stain the underside of your hood, so wash it off if you haven't already (don't ask me about my white car and how i know this).
place racing makes a replacement that is similar to stock but stiffer with no liquid - i went with the hasport replacement, as well as the tranny mount. more vibration, but nice feel.

Driving seems to be fine. There is no strong vibration, but I do hear "clicking" noises when I shift or when I put stress on the motor.

I've blown out that mount too, but replaced with the HCP mount from jdmshit.com It was like $130 shipped...$70 cheaper than the hasport.
Man, when I broke mine, i thought I had a flat! The engine would rock and shift shaking the car! Damn that mount! Plus it dented my hood when it busted..
When you replace it, definetly get a aftermarket replacement or those inserts Ive seen.
I broke mine when I didnt have an A/C bracket. So I just had that one torque mount for the tranny but not the other torque mount for the A/C. So now I have torque inserts for both sides.

Don't replace it with a stock one or it will just tear again. Just don't drive hard until you replace it. I used the place racing mount and it worked great. I think it's $140. Well worth it though
my buddys did the same thing, when he got on it the motor would lift up and dent the hood. the big hasport mount works great http://www.hasport.com/Product...K.htm

Take a peek at your torwue mounts as well. Look at the front of the wheels well, and u will see a mount there. Ruber may be torn there too. I replaced all three of those mounts on my civic with 130k on it and used ES inserts.

I'm not a lowballer. I just like good prices.

This is slightly off topic.
I have a '00 Civic LX auto that sometimes thumps slightly when the gas is applied or when it changes gears. None of my mounts look like that one, but how do I check for wear or more subtle damage?
I don't mean to thread jack, but it is kinda related.
thanks
