Is a fuel pump necessary?
Im currently collecting a bunch of components for my d series turbo kit. I will be running about 9lbs with a VAFC and DSM 450's. I am trying to keep it low budget so I wanted to know if I would need a fuel pump or not. I know they are necessary when going the FMU route, but Im not sure with the hack.
you'll find many opinions on that one. But with 9PSI of boost, I would. I'm planning on boosting 7psi and I just got my bosch fuel pump.
Yeah, thats kinda what I figured. The problem is a good friend of mine is helping me with this project, I trust him, and try to listen to him, but his philosophy is to get away with the least, while I try to do it right the first time.
Any more opinions?

I changed mine out to a Walbro 255. I considered it preventative maintenance. I imagine you will be putting more of a load on it w/ your turbo. The fuel pump let's say costs $100. How much would it cost to fix your motor if the fuel pump failed?
