Get a LSVtec or a CRVtec, cheap way to get good power, if you build them right they are a great swap to have.

I dont plan on Daily Driving it anymore.....

It needs to be reliable....and I ment that I would rather soup up a cheaper engine than a 4k+ type r motor....to be a lil quicker with the same money

But I might opt for a type r.......the person that should be working on it has tuned out type rs to 12s stock, in full int/windows in cars that weigh more than my 3rd gen

Get a b16b, i think that is the highest stock revving engine, i dont think the c5 is higher. And then build it up wangsta!

Agree with last comment. B16, some version of it, b16a is cheaper, B16b better but more costly, almost as much as ITR. If you want to reliably rev high you need the best rod to stroke ratio, so you don't put that much pressure on the sides of the cylinder as you scream into the 8000+ rpm ranges. B16 has a 77mm (i think) stroke v. the B18's with a 87-89 mm stroke. B16's are 1.66 with is much closer to the ideal 1.75 (formula 1 engines) than the b18's 1.52. Yeah, I know you lose torque, but hey you want to rev high and be reliable right.

I also have sk2 st2s with springs and retainers already.....

So reving high safely shouldn't be too much of a problem right?

I was revin the B16A to 9k........

I think the block was bad though, cuz I got a motor for about a week and the cylinder wall colapsed......

And I had sufficient oil, coolant , etc.....

But didnt have a problem overrevin with the sk stuff

Your f20c engine in the s2000 has a rod stroke ratio of something like 1.82, which is ideal for high revs. It has like a 154 mm rod or something like that. In other words a huge rod, as compared to my 137mm GSR rod. If you are asking whether the s2000 is safer to rev higher, than the b16, then HELL YES. But you'll never get that f20c engine in the civic without some serious fab work to get it to mate with a b, h, k, series trannys. I don't even think it's possbile, it might even run backwards.

You want to high rev, and so do I. We have something in common. Im looking for more power than really high revving, i am looking for about 9k safely. I've seen videos with an ek hatch revving to 10500rpms safely in his b16b, but you have to go get it tuned every month, so you can maintain a good motor without taking a risk of blowing something. A couple things you might wanna buy just incase you forget or dont know them all are:

Valves
Valve springs
Retainers
Cams
Cam shafts
Cam gears
Pistons (12.1:1 or 12.5:1) Prolly highest you wanna go is 12.5:1.

And someone who knows how to tune your car well. If i have left anything out, please feel free to add. Maybe Hondata?

I planned on building top to bottom, so everything should be covered.......but I already have sk2 st2 cams, ret, and springs......

I'll probably get new valves, pitons, rods, sleeves, etc.....

Just askin about the best block.....

The reason why I'm doin this is cuz I got fucked on a bad block, and it took the head with it........

Now I gotta build EVERYTHING right, just so I can have piece of mind

btw, those Dart blocks look bomb.......anyone know where to find them cheaper than 2k?

Yeah good coice. Just make sure you get cams, cam gears, rods and such stuff. You dont wanna have a decent top end you want a great top end, dont forget about the bottom end. Hope your successful. Tell me what motor you decide to go for. What kind of car do you have again? If you have a 5th gen hatch and get a b16b i REALLy wanna know how that turns out. B16b is the best Na motor without spending more on a ITR. GOOD LUCK. P.S. Pistons on the CTR b16b i beleive is 11.1:1, go ahead and get yourself some 12.1:1 compression pistons or 12.5:1, I wouldnt go much higher than 12.5:1. You will need to have precise tuning past that.
