Just bought a tranny and when i pulled the drain plug some light brownish foamy liquid came out...is this honda MTF? something else? Bad? haha thanks

honda manaul tranny fluid looks just like motor oil.

Could also be regular 10w-30 motor oil.

Replace it with GM Synchromesh, do a search, its good stuff.

 

hmm because this stuff is not clear like oil or as thick...kinda looks like a melted chocolate shake or frostie from wendy's.

Anyone have any ideas? No odor that i could distinguish..

Does it really matter what was in it? Replace it with that Syncromesh stuff like someone said or Honda MTF.

Sounds like what oil looks like whne treated with Lucas additives. I saw **** on a site one time and the oil turned a light coffee kinda color....maybe he had some kinda friction modifier goin on in there...

 

change it and put in 10 30 wieght.

 

get rid of the 10w30 and get honda mtf it makes so much of a difference over regular oil. it will shift so much easier and smoother

That's exactly what it looked like...coffee with lots of cream. I just wanted make sure this color didn't mean there was a problem with the tranny or something...

hmmm, so that coffee colored foaming affect is not desired at all...i'll be putting GM synchromesh in this tranny when it's installed but thanks for all the input.
