I just changed my sister's 96 2dr accord ex timing belts. After driving for a couple of days she tells me her check engine light is on. I reset the ecu by the battery method and she drives it off again and 15 mins later the light comes back on. What do you guys think is the problem? Any help or suggestions is appreciated.

The CEL doesn't come on for no reason. (unless the ECU is defective) It comes on because the ECU sees a problem.

it may seem like there is nothing wrong but there is def something wrong. sometimes cars run rough because of the problem, sometimes cars run fine, but it still doesnt mean something isnt wrong. hell it could even mean that the gas cap isnt on tight enough! but in order to know whats wrong you have to pull the code. if you dont know how then go to autozone or somewhere and have them pull it for you. they will more than likely do it for you for free (thats what ive heard at least. good luck

The ECU sees a problem, turns on the CEL, and stores a code. If the CEL is on there is/was a problem. It does not come on for no reason. Check the stored code and diagnose accordingly.
