im changing the oil in my 00 B18C..jdm ITR...and ran the first couple thousand miles on regular CASTROL GTX 5w-30....what oil and weight do u guys reccomend i run in for my next 5 quarts...synthetic, regular, 5w, 10w, MOBIL 1, ROYAL PURPLE..etc....PS: i drive my car hard

 

so far the best oil i have ever used so far was amsoil but it is expensive but its well worth it i am currently running it my b18c-r it is a synthetic BEST OIL BY FAR IN MY OPINION.

the only oil I use is mobil 1 5-w30 or 10-w30 synthetic oil.

Stay with 5w-30 brand wise, just keep with the well known brands such as, Mobil 1, Royal Purple, Motul, Amsoil, Redline, and the like. As for a pricing goes I would go with Mobil 1. They are all pretty much the same. As long as you change your oil frequently you're good to go.

 

How many total miles are on the engine so far? I personally prefer conventional oil, but even if you intend to run synthetic, it might be a good idea to run conventional a while longer, depending on the mileage.

 

How about helping us cut down on some of the repeated topics....and search because this has been covered at least 10 times...

i have only thrown down about 2k miles since i poured in the castrol when i did the swap.....ive been rapin my motor hard so im thinkin to give it its first real oil change tomarrow...just want to give the best all around nutrients...

So the engine only has 2000 total miles on it (i.e., it's brand-new)? I'd stick with a quality 5W-30 conventional for at least another couple of oil changes.
