Should I use a towel or T-shirt to wrap it around the piping so that it'll sit between the piping and the heat shield? The rattling is annoying. I think the problem is there because my custom hi-flo cat is a bit too long, and it pushes my piping further back near the gas tank.

 

I wouldn't stuff a shirt or towel there unless you like fires , IMO you should get your cat shortened
