Default Auto 97 D16y8 intake/exhaust manifolds on a manual 95 VX????

Will this work, if so... How much work is this?... anyone know where any how-to's are? Searched and found a little bit, but not really what I was looking for...

Also, if the exhaust manifold worx... can i just get rid of the cat all together... We have no emissions or sniffer testing here

yeah they will fit, all d-series external parts are the same i think, well basically. it shouldn't be too much work just unbolting your old ones and bolting on your ones, prolly gonna be harder to take em off.with the vx engine i would not take off the cat, if anything put a free flow cat on or get a full cat back system i just ordered one (2 and 1/2 inch piping) I have a vx so i know a little about it. also unless your running some serious mods, your engine isn't putting out enough emissions to cause enough back pressure to lose power, so taking off your cat will most likely do nothing except hurt your valves. i hope this helps and good luck o yeah cat back systems for 92 to 95 hatch don't bolt directly on to a vx so be prepared to drop an extra 100 to have it custom installed, i'm having it done next week.PM me if you need anything else

not really too worried about custom exhaust work, because my entire family is into cars in one way or another... I have hook-ups pretty much everywhere

The main reason I was asking was because I was wandering if i could just put the headers from an EX that have the cat further down the exhaust pipe or when i do that am i gonna have to add in a cat somewhere in the line...

i would say that the header will fit on for sure and i'm not too sure if it will bolt on to the rest of your system tho cause i think there are different systems for si's and ex's and cause you have a vx the header might not fit to the rest of the system. but if i were you to save yourself some headaches i would just buy a new exhaust system when you get your header so it fill fit for sure, but as long as the header on your car and the ex are the same size and length everything should fit
