Default kirk 4pt Bar

Does anyone have any suggestions on what i should do about the gap on one of the bolt holes for the main loop. there is about 1/2 inch gap from the plate and the floor. Here is a pic if it would help any. note: the pic was taken before i drilled holes and put in the mounting plates..

i got all the holes drilled so its ready for install. It got dark, and the place i live now doesnt have a garage, so it makes workin on the car difficult at night.

Im sure this multipiece brace that goes along the rear seat has a function. Can this be removed? the car is a 98 civic DX coupe

I would mark the holes with the bar in the car in the place that you want it to be. Take the bar back out and drill holes. You will be suprised when you tighten the floorboard bolts...........

The metal on the floor in that area is very thin...... when I tightened my bolts down it actualy pulled the floor up and everything fit perfect.

This is what we did in the ITR with the autopower roll bar. The floor actually didn't bend much, but the foot plate sure did and it ended up being very flat. Just make sure that you retighten the bolts about a dozen times since they will loosen over time as the two metal surfaces conform to one another. We fixed the same problem in the CRX by just cutting the foot plates off and welding in larger ones. That might be more than you care to do.

Just take your time and tighten each bolt just a little at a time. Everything will sandwich up just fine.

I mentioned this to Mark when we visited last year. The solution is very simple actually. According to my fabricator-get a BIG hammer and beat the floor up a little. The alternative is to use a piece of steel as a shim. DO NOT use the mounting bolts to pull the metal up-you will stretch them and make em useless that way. The other possbility would be to weld the bar in-which is stronger.
