5$ paypal to the first one that can solve this, seriously. vtec not working only at track.
i have a 92 civic VX hatch
with a JDM H22a
everything works on the street, it runs vtec and everything. i got it to run vtec one time at the track, but it always throws code 6, temp sensor. I have a fluidyne civic radiator, and otherwise a stock prelude / accord cooling system. i have a new water pump.
i also have codes for 02 sensor ground, and idle air controller. These seem to just be wired incorrectly, but everyhting works. just when i am at the track, i get no vtec.
5$ to one of you is not close to the 20$ to test and tune fridays at my gay *** local stip.
the one time i ran with vtec i had a 13.7 @ 101 wtih a 2.1 60'
i have afalken azenas on rota circuit 8s.
again 5$ paypal to the first one that tells me why this happens AND what i can do to fix it.
i have tried turning the car off in the staging (2-7 mins) and idleing it, and revving for about a min before i run.
also my fan never turns on, it used to always be on, until i wired that one coolant sensor that is now causing the issue..
goooood luck

i'm not sure if this is right but i'm going to take a shot at it. you said something about the fan never coming on right? maybe there is something wrong with the temp sensor and the ecu is getting a false reading saying that the engine is cooler than what it really is and since its reading that it isn't at its normal operating temp then vtec won't active and also your fan won't come on since it thinks that the engine isn't hot enough to turn on the fan. i don't know if this is what you are looking for, but hey it was worth a try.
look like you have quite a fews cel. why don't you fix all those cel, and see your car run any better. if not come back for more info.
the reason for the vtec not activate because the oil is not at proper temp, or level.
