You should run the new piping/muffler for a little let the "new" settle out and see how loud it is then. AVG is about 2 weeks.

but if its so loud you can't stand it, but in a resonator.

Or you can do like I did. Get a muffler silencer and make that thing fit. It quitened down my muffler a lot and now it is much more enjoyable to ride on long trips. Take off the silencer and it's loud and ready to ride.

Well heres a update of what i got.

The only thing im not happy with is that they took the pipe under instead of going over the rear suspention. But they did tuck it tight under the car.

Well when i hit the gas it maves quicker & it starts quicker

As for the 2" diameter im gonna add a header & CAI.

I dont know if 2" pipe is good or bad, I was gonna run 2.25" but the shop used 2" I have no idea why.

This is how mine looks.... (I guess for comparison) I have 2.5"

So it looks right...and after further review I have a dynomax muffler (same shiot as magnaflow) but some might disagree :shucks:

I found a decent Magnaflow Powerpack.

It has a unpolished stainless steel case, a perforated core wrapped with stainless steel mesh and a packing of acoustical absorbing fiber

XL Powerpack, Unpolished Stainless Steel,
3.5" Case, 2" Core, Len 14" $22.97

yes you will ge better throttle response and acceleration.. 2.25" is a lot better for you.. i would of asked for that, and if they didnt use go and get it redone or a discount. most stock piping is 1.75'ish.. so not sure how much you paid but id be mad.. was it mandrel or crush?

the car will be louder.. people will learn and realize that everything you do to your car, naturally only will make it louder..

header= louder, intake=louder, valvetrain even is louder and you can hear more..

your other problem, is getting a header with a 2" collect to bolt up. most headers are 2.5" collectors.. and if it is 2", that means they had to step the primaries and will reduce the peformance of the header

second, yes if you do drop the car, your bar will hit and same with a rear suspension bar..

I paid $120 for the exhaust(mandrel bent) & $80 for the muffler. it is very nice work. its tucked very nicely & all the welds are clean but then i never heard a 4th gen with my same muffler & a 2.25 exhaust to compaire it to, I cant complain it is getting quieter as the days go on but i guess i just dont wanna wait till carbon builds up to get the sound i want. i guess i better not jump ahead of my self, besides the resonator will only cosy me a few dollars .

as for the header it will still bolt up to my cat. it was not altered at all so that wont be a problem.

But if worse comes to worse ill just pull the cat back & try & sell it for $175
