Default Ran 14.9, need to improve

14.9 last year on a very hot day with street tires and 16's in my 92 hatch with ITR swap. Which i thought was very dissapointing. It was however my first ever run.
This year i have Spoon cams, Skunk2 cam gears + springs + retainers and a few bolt ons.
What can i expect?

Practice practice practice... if you only hit a 14.9 w/ your setup before, don't expect a miracle this time even though you have all the newly added parts. It's hard to say what you will run but you should've been low 14's at least with your previous setup so I'd definitely say you'd be in the 13's with some practice. It's all in the launch.

I was able to hit 14.9 in my hatch w/ a b16. Not great but that's just a reference.

Hmm woah 14.9 ey?

What was your mph? What type of hatch is that? Si, DX, VX, CX? Well just to let you know where you could be and should be... I ran 14.92 @ 93mph with a B18B i/h/e using gsr tran in my Civic hatch Si back in the days... hehe.. it was like 4 years ago... but yea i was using 14" 96-00 HX rims... 185-65-14 so they're pretty small diameter and light... (got 2.3 60ft) and then i threw some nitto drag radials on... got 2.1 60ft and a 14.44 @ 93mph... (14" stock steel wheels)...

well later i threw a gsr head on it and hmm i never drove it on street tires at the track but im not too sure if my bro only got 14.4 or like 14.3 but it was around 98mph... same wheel setup... then we put slix on (mickeys)... 13.96@95mph... (1.9 60ft)... my car was heavy man hehe...

anyways to help you out instead of jus type'n lots of text you mite not find helpful... try use'n 14" rims... like a 205-50-14 setup would be nice... or heck jus go wif the stock tires that usually come wif steel wheels... 185-65-14... it'll help give you tighter gearing which really helps in acceleration... i truly recommend you to not run 15" and larger rims if you are drag racing becuz they'll take off a few tenths on ur 1/4mile... oh and by the way try launching the car at around 3000-3500 rpm... i usually dump the clutch but feather the gas until i kno my wheels arent spinning then i push the throttle as safely and quickly to the floor as possible... (safely meaning no wheel spin)... that'll take a lot of practice to make it work rite tho.. otherwise jus dump the clutch and floor it at 3000-3500rpm...

k hope this helps...

In any hatch it should be faster. Post the mph and we can tell you if your motors not making the power or hopefully if you just need more seat time behind the tree.

Yeh, i need practice.
My 1st ever run -
Reaction - 0.933
60ft - 2.510
330ft - 6.719
1/8 - 10.111 @ 74.29mph
1/4 - 15.546 @ 90.01

My second run was 15sec flat and my last run -

reaction - 1.130
60ft - 2.291
330ft - 6.376
1/8 - 9.661 @ 76.18mph
1/4 - 14.902 @ 92.95mph

I was running on stock civic exhaust and felt like it was lacking power around 70mph - 80mph.

Ultra efro, thats awesome for stock B16 running 14.2!!!

Your mph could be a bit higher. My friend traps 99-100 in an h22a hatch. You should be around 97-98. Work on you 60fts and your et will come down a little, but you do appear to be trapping lower than you should be.

Ever weigh the car?

Never weighed it. Where can i get that done. I've taken the air con off. I've also taken the power steering unit off now. Back seats and interior are out.

I will work on my 60fts definitely.

My compression is at 225psi. Is that good or bad for B18C6?
I think my head gasket is going and i have a spoon one ordered. I really want to hit 13's so you guys reckon its possible if i train hard enough?

You should be hitting 13s with the setup you currently have.
