Default Piston to deck height

I need to know what the stock h22a piston to deck heigth is

C-Speed Racing Compression Calculator

H22A4 with Wiseco pistons

Bore=................................... 87
stroke=..................................90.7
Combustion chamber...............53.8
piston dome diplacment............7
Stock Head gasket.....................0.030
piston to deck height...................0.007

Compression ratio.....................11.3:1

If this is the correct "piston to deck height"

any H22 luders that can help me out? I need to know what the stock piston to deck height is....

Thanks!

A lot of people will say that most Honda's they have seen have 0 piston to deck hight in factory configuration.

I would think that the pistons would sit about .020 in the hole from the factory but am not sure about that.

Bump for somone smarter than me to help this poor guy out.

thanks!!!

I called Wiseco up and they said that the pistons for the H22 for stock height will be 0.015 in the hole.

So they said if I want to get the 11.5:1 from their H22 pistons then I will have to mill the head 0.015 for a 0.000 which will bring the compression up to 11.5:1. And if I do a 0.030 (.015 on the head and .015 on the block) it'll bump the compression ratio up to 12:1

Anyone else have any imput?

E-mail Jeff at IB, hes got IB Spec Wiseco's in 11.3:1 and 12.5:1

http://store.ibspec.com/piston....html

The IB pistons are lighter than wisecos shelf stock.

Also, check out Ross pistons as well. All of their pistons are custom with decent turnaround time. They can make you whatever you want for about the same price as most other companies shelf stock aplications.

dam i would....but i already have the wiseco pistons

So i will need to mill the head .015 to get a 11.5:1...but i'm thiking of milling it like .020 or .030 to get close to 12:1.....

Im not and never have been a fan of milling the head. If the compression isnt enough for you with the pistons you have eaither run a thinner head gasket or spend some cash on head work with clover leafed combustion chambers.

Clover leafing reduces the total cc's with in the combustion chamber. The best person to talk to IMO about clover leafed chambers on honda heads is Paulis at AEBS. Paulis is an incredibly smart guy. He took the time to explain the reasons for a reshaped chamber and the benefits of to me when I was last down in the SD area. Give them a call, 858 693 3200

What octane gas you got available. I think it's 94 in GA right.

11.6 or so will be safe and your motor won't be sensitive to ambient temps and loads.

I take it this motor will be used in your commuter car.
