Yes I am a dumbass - Canuck who gets owned by his poor memory
Last night I changed my oil, checked the level, and closed the hood. This morning, on my drive in to work, I start smelling oil burning. I thought to myself, WTF, so I pull over on the side of the 401 and popped the hood. There was no oil cap
I had forgotten to replace it.
The oil had spilled over my nice clean JDM valve cover, all under the hood, on the intake and exhaust manifold, and that is where it was burning off. I pulled off and called my buddy. We went home for some oil, some rags, and my spare oil cap.
Burning oil stinks

I did something like that a month ago. I filled gas and totaly forgot to replace the gas cap lid which was sitting in the little pcoket on the gas door. I drove to my next stop, got out and was so surprised it hadn't fallen out. There is my one for the decade....

I've done that three or four times in my Scout. No holder or anything, so I rest it on the back d-side tire. When I'd start to leave, the gas cap would pass me on the left

I was doing and oil change on my car and while taking off the Oil filter i didn't realize the gasket was still on the frame. I screwed on the new filter hopped in the ARRRR and fired it up..Sure enough she started to fire, fire out oil! that oil was spraying out like a water hose! i shut the engine off and looked at the filter. Low and behold the Gasket was missing! DOH!!
