i pulled my head, and have an extra core to pratice with. I've started port matching. I'm having a shop install exospeeds cam, it's an all moter y7. Thansk to igo4bmx i now have a y8 intake, and should have a bored out tb as well portch matched to the intake. Now for the engine...

i was going to buy some ls rods, and get some honda/acrua oem pistons. total seal/oem rings, arp fasterns/head bolts, 2 layer head gasket, milled head, and have it assembled at a local shop. I know the ls rods need clearing/notching or something, wondering how much of a problem this will be. Looking for high compression, would it be good to be around 11:1 + I was going to use stock injectors, aem fpr, walboro fuel pump with a s-afc

i bought a 96 dx 5spd tranny(37k) + shift linkage/shifter 150 shipped, auto to 5spd from arpa (thanks again)

thanks to Bspec18 i now have some ls rods.

the head is pulled, along with all the unrusted/cleaned up and painted susspenion(black, just to protect from elements.. and yes bling i added some silver)

headwork starts asap.

also thanks to igo4bmx i have a y8 intake manifold. so now..

98 y7 with 23k. pulled in my room.
auto tranny, throw off the back porch, and then used at a early keg party for people to pee on.
ls rods + honda oem pistons
arp fasterns, arp headbolts, y8 headgasket, or 3 layer headgaset if comp too high.

drp valvetrain
y8 im
b16 tb boarded out (The new Spaceballs)

gotta have some input guys,.. i'm really commin along with getting stuff togther, but i gotta have idears, d16a1 pistons too much ? also what about s-afc for tuning ?.. and what ecu do i get, p28 right ?

 

how are you planning to attach those LS rods to the OEM pistons?

not digging your sarcasm...i was genuinely interested in your method of solving the floating wrist pin issue and it's involved costs Vs. aftermarket piston/rod config.
my set up is almost identical, less my engine is an A6.
A1 pistons should be ok, provided you figure out your fueling and potential detonation issues. clay the engine, mine worked out ok with a Rocket non VTEC cam and ISKY valvetrain.
