Default New Bearings when replacing rings?

Hello, my b18a is burning oil, so i was planning on replacing the rings. My biggest question is in regards to the rod bearings, do i have to replace them, or is it just a good idea, while i have the motor apart. And if i should replace them, i have to wait until i have the motor apart and can measure the bearings and read the marks on the block and crank before i can order them. is that right? thanks for your help

If you have alot of miles on the motor it will be a good thing to change out the rod bearings. Pretty inexpensive. I would just throw the same color bearings already in there.

Thats part of the problem, the engine was supposedly rebuilt like 10k ago but now it is burning oil, so i am not sure if i trust that it was fully rebuilt. The other issue is that i have no way of knowing what color bearings i need until the engine is apart, right?

correct.. sometimes you will get lucky and see the color on the bearings still.
