over reving a 2.3L

What harm is being done on a h23 when you hold first or second gear to long and hit the cutoff point? I am used to my R and my girls car is the h23. Basically I forget to shift so early.

If you just hit fuel cut off, no harm should have occured. That's what it's there for.

If there is no cutoff, you could overstress every vital component in the engine. Not good.

i think my h23 is 6500... Or atleast i think that is what the guage redlines at...
