i need to paint that peice that runs across the top of the hatch glass on a crx(up next to the roof)how do i pull that peice off?? i tried search but didnt know what that was called..TIA

 

bump...come on folks..i know somebody has pulled that peice off to paint it...i'm an idiot and tried search but no luck..my manual didnt have any pics/description and ..oh hell..help please

 

why would u paint that black piece?

 

the paint has come off or is chipping off and it looks like ****..why else..you know how to pull it off?? i can probably figure it out myself but i was hoping someone else could just tell me and avoid breaking a clip or something in the process.

 

tape it off and paint it on the car.. easy thing without breaking anything

 

mine is badly worn too. i plan on painting it on the car.

 

i just grabbed one from the yard last weekend. I took off the interior peice that the cabin light is attached to and pushed the moulding up from the inside of the car. There is about 6 clips? just pop it up and then on the outside of the car just push it down the glass and it should be free..

i'm hoping the install will be this easy.. i'll fill you guys in at the end of the day.

 

If you are concerned with the appearance of it don't paint. Buy a new one!

 

thanks..and..thanks(but i'm still going to paint this one until i can hook up another one that isnt flaking)last time at the pick yard they were all in worse shape than mine instead of spray paint i am probably going to use a vinyl based air dry ink from my work(like they use on the handles of some wrenchs)if it works i'll let you know
