cheap and easy way to lower emissions help
i have been ballin on a budget for awhile now and recently got pulled over for having expired tags. i went and failed my local echeck now 2 times. free those times but the third i have to pay either way. I failed mostly due to hydrocarbons.
is there anyway i can knock the numbers down without buying a whole new cat? i tried to scam the echeck guy but he wasnt on it.
car is a 98 ex
b18c1, apexi header, carsound cat(i think, it is for sure some high flow one)
im thinkin maybe do the sea foam but i dont know if that will remedy the situation.

Maybe try a high octane fuel, or racing gas. Do you have a v-afc, those work real well. You could even check your timing, you could not be passing due to combustion in the cylinder and leaking all that fuel out the tail pipe.
yeah i tried it on 93 the highest we get around here. i have a vfac but could never justify putting it in my car. i thought it was just a cool 200 dollar blinking light factory.
You can do alot with the vafc, if it iis your low idle change your settings to run leaner, not to lean, or do the same, don't be stupid though and blow the motor, watch for knock.
well i dont have to take a low idle test. the car is supposed to be obd2, which it isnt. so after a bunch of bullshit i finally get them to do a asm2525 test, which is just running at 25mph. i havent even taken the vfac outta the box. i was tryin to sell it but if it can help me pass ill check it out. going to search now.

I failed 6 times here in WA and finally passed on the 7th.
I used 2 gallon of 87 octane and 15 bottle of 'Heet'.
Good luck passing.

we used to put 2 bottles of rubbing alchol in the gas tank because it burns leaner and cleaner that gas , hell it could be that catalytic converter you got , im damn more than certain it is , we replaced my brothers and it passed so damn low you wouldnt think it had exhaust coming out
