Type R into 93 gsr, need info please
Ok, here is what i have:
93 Integra GSR OBD1
Stock ecu with hondata
OBD 2 jdm B18c type r motor with all the parts on it (dist. alt. injectors)
type r harness
I dont have the old b17 motor , so i cant use the distrib, injectors, or alternator off of it.
What will i need to do to install this setup and run the obd2 motor in obd1. I was told I can cut the connectors off the stock harness and use teh obd2 connectors and wire them to the stock harness. Does this method work??
Thanks, please help
(gonna be doing this setup soon)

Yes this method will work. OBD2 electronics (injectors, distributor, alternator) can all be run OBD1.
You will use the stock 93 GSR wiring harness with a few modifications. You will cut off the injector plugs and distributor plugs from the 93 GSR harness and replace them with teh injector plugs and distributor plugs from the Type R wiring harness. That is it. All of the other plugs on the GSR harness will find their match on the new Type R motor.
I had to do the same thing to put a type R in my EF (which is running OBD1).

it should actually be good to go all you would need to do is swap the clips and plugs necessary for the obd2 components. if you have both harnesses it should be cake.
Definitely still pissed at him. I have put hours and hours into this car and so has he. I guess he just wants a different project.
At least it's staying in Michigan. Let me know if you have any other questions as I know this car and motor pretty well.
