Default when should I use the regular GM synchromesh and when should I use the Friction modified synchromesh

I have a quick question. I've been reading some posts about this stuff and am a bit confused. If my tranny doesnt grind, should I stick to the honda MTF? Is synchromesh only supposed to be used when a tranny is grinding or can you use it on a tranny that doesnt grind to prevent it from future grinding? When should I use the Friction modified synchromesh? Im askin because I am getting a used JDM YS1 cable tranny. I want to know what the first fluid I should use is. Should I start with the HOnda MTF, and if it doesnt grind while using this, should I stick to it? Or should I just start off with the synchromesh?Im pretty much just confused on if you are only supposed to be using synchromesh if your tranny is already currently grinding or if you can use it on a tranny that doesnt grind. and if you are using it on a tranny that doesnt currently grind, will it help prevent synchro wear and grinding. Thanks to everyone for their time

I would use it right away. GM syncromesh with friction modifiers is just a better version thats all. Its just like picking conventional oil and synthetic oil. Synthetic is better and provides better protection but more expensive. If your going to beat your transmission hard then get the one with friction modifiers if not then go with the regular syncromesh. Ive used both Honda MTF and regular GM syncromesh and the GM stuff is way better my tranny shifts alot smoother with it and next time ill try the gm with the friction modifiers

If it isn't grinding, don't use synchromesh at all. There are a number of people who pointed out the possibility that synchromesh is only a temporary solution and will accelerate synchro wear. I suggest you do some serious research on the topic before opting to go with anything other than OEM Honda.

i've been using gm synchro. friction modified for a while now on a perfectly good tranny.
I'm pretty sure the fluid does not advance synchro wear.by the fluid helping friction it also helps durability.

I use GM Synchro friction mod, It eliminated ALL of my tranny grinds... Even if you don't have grinds, should protect your tranny more.
