Default Ride Height Problems

Anyone run into a problem with the ride height being uneven on your DC5? I have an '02 Type-S, and recently replaced the suspension to the Mugen Sport Suspension. After they were put on, I noticed that the distance between my tire and fender lip on the rear passenger side was lower than the other side... measuring from the Jack Points, the rear side is about 0.5" lower than the rest of the car... Had the suspension looked at by 3 different shops, and no one can tell me whats wrong. Had the frame measured (even though its not a frame), to see if it was true, and there is no problems there. Had the shock/spring assembly replaced by King Motorsports, and it still had the same problem. Acura says its not covered under warranty because I "tweaked" it. This is bothering the crap out of me, because I feel it should be even. Are coilovers my only option?

.5" seems like alot of variance... I'd double check the installation.

If it was like .25" I would guess its maybe the corner weighting is another factor... for example if you raised the right-front, it would push down on the left-rear...kinda like putting a matchbook under a chair-leg. Maybe the stiffer suspension up front has changed your corner wieghting to be even, at the expense of visual straightness.

Let us know what you find out.

how long have you had the suspension? if you've only had it for a few weeks, the springs probably still need to "settle" a bit. i'd wait a few more weeks and measure again.

also, have you checked the rear suspension piece? maybe something is bent?

I wouldn't think it would be a settling issue, the ride height for the most part never changed with my mugen suspension after time...and I think the original poster said he has had multiple sets on.

Is King helping you find a resolution? Cause that truly is puzzling if it has happened twice.

No, King said they have never seen a blown mugen shock, and the shops that I took it to say its normal to be .5" off... I think Im just gonna get a set of coil overs for the rear and call it good... oh BTW I thought about the settling thing, and king said that mugens dont have to settle...

zip, are you measuring jack point to the road? I think the safest way is to measure top of wheel opening to top of wheel cap to avoid any uneveness in the frame or ground. Yep, .5 inch seems a lot. My Tein S-Techs aren't supposed to sag more than 5mm or 1/5".
