looking for pictures of the red del sol that did 11's back around 97'. it was owned by daiske who left and moved to japan to work for top fuel, but it was built by gary kubo. b16a turbo. anyone?

 

is that the chop top one? i thought it was white.

The car was featured in Turbo Magazine. I have the issue, but don't have a scanner to upload pics. What were you looking for? It was a turbo'd b16 with simple fuel management. Stock ecu, 4:1 fmu, and an HKS AIC controller with secondaries under the stock intake manifold.I can look tonight if you wish to tell you what issue it was.

no..it was red..not white..not str...yeah..fmu/aic..its just that i owned that car..and just sold it to a buddy..fully rebuilt back to street car specs. daily driver. just wanted to show him what it used to look like. if you can get the pics up...that would be cool. thanks.

It's funny I said something to Gary about this thread, And he was like wow really? And just started to ramble off everything that was done to the car, How he did the motor steph drove it to a 11.41 at palmdale, that was when miles had run a best of 11.6? So it was impressive for it's time.(stock rods no sleeving) He said he didn't have any pic's of the car though. He did say it was in turbo magazine. All of his old pic's and Magazine articles never got returned from one of the media/marketing people that was supposed to do work for them.

p.s....look up on solo2vtec's avatar...thats the del sol in the pic, hes the one who got it from me, but it doesn't run 11's now. more like 17's. but thats kinda close to 11's............its only like 6 sec's off.

 

you know whats funny steve is that the motor that ran 11s in palmdale was droped into my friends white eg that was sold to my other friend that eventialy sold it to max.

I have that issue too.

 

I remember that car.. hks aic for fuel enrichment... old school.. tiiite!!! or was it the hks gcc that controlled the vpc. with the fcd, and dont forget the evc.. LOL "HKS Fully staged out"

The quickest street Del Sol ran 11's??? I have personally seen a street Del Sol go 10.7 thru the muffler. But it was just about 2 weeks ago.
