Poll: Would you purchase carbon fiber front splitter like the Realtime cars use?
If a carbon fiber splitter were available, similar to the one Realtime uses, would you be willing to purchase one?
Here is what the Realtime front splitter looks like.

I'd be interested only if this splitter can be modified to accept Dzus fasteners to allow for easy removal or some sort of simple sturdy attachment mechanism.
If a carbon fiber splitter were available, similar to the one Realtime uses, would you be willing to purchase one?
a) How much will it cost?
b) Is it an EXACT copy of the RTR version?
c) Is it easy to remove and install in the track?
d) Is it strong enough to withstand poundings on the curb and asphalt?
Yep, I would. The more negative air pressure under the car, the better. BUT be warned!!! If you get the splitter, you must also get the rear wing. With just the front splitter, you are increasing the negative air pressure on one end of the car (the front). Take a turn at speed, the front will stick, and the rear will NOT. With the aftermarket rear wing, you put more pressure on the rear which balances the "stick". My .02 cents.
I would buy one for sure, as long as it was not CF. CF is tiiite and all, but a bit too pricy a material for a splitter which will just get chewed up with track use.

I'll buy one just as soon as someone pays for it.
Andy, you should see my stock front splitter. Looks like it went through a meat grinder

Cost... About $35 and an hour or so of my time.
It may not be all that pretty, but it works... and it works well. Basic principle of reducing the amount of air under the car...
JDM Market (for Adam) and custom carbon fiber stuff might be the shiznit, but those of us who have a limited budget just can't spend that kind of money on something thats going to get beat up all to hell and back.
note: the little wrinkle/crease in the "splitter" is from high siding the curbing on the inside of turn 6 at Road Atlanta. There was coolant on the line, and I did the entire group a favor by finding it for everybody.
Anyway, the repair involved a couple of new pop rivets. Sure glad it wasn't a hella tiTe carbon fiber piece.
Just my $.02
Precisely why I went with the "Strip of plastic and pop rivets" option.
Just your basic strip of plastic. Semi rigid.

I am in the process of developing a racing splitter and undertray for the 98+ Integra. The splitter and undertray will be sold seperately, or as a package -- prices are yet to be determined. The company I am working with deals primarily with a few factory World Superbike racing teams, as well as aviation. I met with the owner last night to discuss my needs, as well as to see their products. Needless to say, I was very impressed at the quality. I should have the first few ready in about 2-3 weeks, and will be posting pictures at that time.
Right now, its looking like it will be available in both carbon fiber and fiberglass. Though the difference in cost is only about $50. In addition, there will be an optional undertray (materials undecided) available for purchase. The undertray will be made to fit the splitter, and will be required for maximum results (i.e. max downforce.)
One last thing. We are NOT selling the Realtime splitter, I just used those pics as a point of reference. This is because ours is very similar in design.
If you have any additional questions, please IM me.

OT, but what wheels are those? They look pretty cool, are they light? Do you have a side view of them?
14x7 Panasports.
About 11 pounds each (like I would use a heavy wheel. I ain't got no torque
).

Just to clarify davew, I am making them for the 98+ Integra. Roger Foo has a 95 Civic. Do you know what the price for the Civic version is?
