Big block V8 baybee!! Nah, just kiddin'. If you want to something different I like the K20 idea, but it also matters what your eventual plans are. If you'd like to go turbo the B18A is a nice choice. Although aftermarket isn't as large as the B16. If you wanna go NA and have some cash to blow, go all the with C5. Its a much more costly swap, but very worth it.

You want different? That usually means expensive.
B18c5...96+ teg type-R
B17...92-93 GSR
B20z...99+ CRV
d16z6 or y8...92+ Civic, but add boost

I heard someone say boosted Hondas tend to live short, exciting lives...that sums it up nicely.

for the cost of a b series swap (lowly B16A), around $2000, you can take your d16a6, get it sleeved, forged pistons and rods, all new bearings and whatnot.

spend another $1000-$1500 and build a turbo kit, boost 20psi and blow the ******* doors off NA b series swaps.

$3500 will get you a 170hp GSR engine
$3500 will get you a 300hp SOHC :D
