Default 4th gen jdm headlight cutoff

that guard or cap that covers the lowbeam bulb... is the edge that creates the cutoff on the top or bottom edge?

No its the housing and the cap that create the "pattern"

to my knowledge the JDM headlights for the 4th gen do not have a cut off pattern

there is some minor glare, but there is an obvious cutoff. my plan was to cut the edge that doesnt create the top cutoff, as to let more light out directly at the ground.

ill try and get a pic

as you can see, there is a distinct top cutoff. and it almost looks like there is a bottom cutoff too... below the intense light center, theres almost no light below it. i want to cut the guard to increase that light.

so... anyone know if its possible to increase the light by cutting one edge of the cap? if yes, how should i do it and not affect the top cutoff... i dont want to blind people.

cutting the top part of the cap will do very little to increase the light on the foreground. the problem isn't the cap. the lamp was designed for the light to be reflected from the rear. if they wanted to design more light onto the ground, they would need to make the lamps bigger and the reflector rounder towards the top.

oh, ic. so its not meant to have a strong light right in front of the car, but instead a less intense broader light... right
